Are there any membship fees for using Goldstar Video?
There are no membership fees required to rent from Goldstar Video. You will have access to over one thousand martial arts training videos from Unique, Black Belt Magazine, ESPY, Century-Panther and other independent martial artists. Our program will save you a lot of money in training DVDs!
How can you legally rent videos?
We are often asked "How can you do this? Isn't it illegal to rent these tapes without permission from the martial artist who created them?". In a word, no, it is not.
The First Sale doctrine, which is part of U.S. Copyright Law, states that after the initial sale by the copyright holder - if the product is not a sound recording or a software program, in which case other restrictions apply - the buyer (Goldstar Video) can rent or resell the product, but cannot reproduce it or make derivative works from it without permission of the copyright holder.
This means Goldstar Video can rent the DVD to you, but you are still restricted from copying the DVDs. It is a felony to make copies of any video without permission from the copyright holder, punishable by up to ten (10) years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Please note that all videos obtained and distributed for rental by Goldstar Video are obtained through major martial arts video distributors or directly from the manufacturer.
Email Fraud Information (Important)
At Goldstar Video, we are committed to protecting your privacy and security. We will never initiate a request for sensitive information from you via email (ie., Username, Password, or Credit Card information). We strongly suggest that you do not share this information with anyone, ever. If you are a Goldstar Video customer, and have responded to such an e-mail, please immediately call Goldstar Video at 888-884-7482. If such a request included credit card information, it is highly recommended that you contact the issuer of your credit card to report the problem. If you are ever in doubt about an email, please contact us directly at 888-884-7482.
Forgot Username/Password Requests
Goldstar Video is committed to protecting your privacy and security. If you ever lose your username and/or password, please remember the following:
- We verify requests prior to responding. The request must be initiated by the e-mail address on file for that account.
- We cannot access your password. If you lose your password, we can initiate a reset request or manually reset the password. Your original password cannot be retrieved.
- If you do not have access to the original email account, we can verify the account by phone. Simply provide an email request for us to contact you. We will contact you using the phone number on file. We will ask that you verify the last 4 digits of the credit card number for verification.
